Welcome
Hi. I’m a poet and writer living in Northern California among redwoods and oaks. Despite the challenges of drought and fire, I love living here and feel a deep sense of belonging and connection to Sonoma County and San Francisco, where I grew up (mostly), and the whole Bay Area. My latest book is We Who Dream from Finishing Line Press. My earlier collections include Snake Woman Poems and the chapbooks Fixer-Upper, Winter at Green Haven and Sea Cradles.
For over 25 years I worked as a California Poet in the Schools in San Francisco and Sonoma County, helping students of all ages and backgrounds express themselves through words. Best job I ever had.
I also was honored and happy to serve as Poet Laureate of Sonoma County from 2010 through 2011, meeting and encouraging fellow-citizens in the pursuit of poetry.
I love performing my own work and enjoy reciting poems at oral tradition gatherings.
